The Month of December

Of all the twelve months in a year, December is the busiest for most of us especially me. Because in addition to all, my birthday falls on the 14th of December. My birthday celebration this year was a little different from all previous celebrations. More crowd and more happening, hahaha...
After my birthday celebration, come the 'Winter Soltice Festival' which falls on the 22th December. Winter Soltice is a chinese tradition to celebrate the arrival of winter. On this day, we make glutinous rice ball ("tang yuen"). Concealed within it are sweet peanut paste. These round glutinous rice ball symbolises the union of a family. The festival was celebrated rather differently too this year cause it is the first year without mom. But on the other hand, as consolation, my other sibling came home to celebrate it. :) It has been a long time since they last came home for this special festival. It's nice to be with family during festive season.

Oh yes, before I forget, my medical check-up was due in December too and I passed with flying colours again for the 2nd time in a year! I am so proud of myself for maintaining a clean bill of health. For this I must celebrate, hahaha.
***
Then came Christmas. Nothing special this year. Just the same as many years before. Spending Christmas Eve by sending out Christmas wishes to friends and family members and receiving many wishes too at the same time. Let's see what's the celebration like for me on the arrival of 2010......... ;)

Yeah! It's my Birthday again.

It wasn't so long ago that I celebrated my birthday and now it is here again. So fast meh? A year older again. This time round the celebration was at Palm Garden with Gladys, Harrison, Tenny and Chaire and their family.
Honestly....the birthday song was sang so well that it sent butterflies into my stomach. "THANKYOU GUYS", the food was great the company was fantastic. I must say, it was unforgettable and will always keep me smiling for the next 12 months. I mentioned in my entry of the Cambodia trip that I received an early birthday present from Tenny. Well this is what she gave me. Nice right?
And a pair of 'Guess' sunglasses from St. Chaires which I wanted very much. Sexy right?
A bouquet of flowers too from the children... So thoughtful right? And Tenny top it up with a lovely card *muak, muak*. Oh yes, Gladys bought a lovely yummy cake, and I requested for 1 candle. I am sure you all know why....hehehe, very old already the cake got not enough space to put all the candle so 1 lor, clever right?

Oh yes, by the way, my birthday actually falls on the 14/12. That celebration was 2 days earlier - 12/12. They said it was a lucky number. Hahaha... Today(14/12) Tenny and me had lunch at "Ritch". It's kind of a must go on my birthday since I was always there on all my previous birthdays. The lady boss, Trisca, gave us a beautiful cheese cake fo the occassion on the house. It was so pretty and yummy.

Once again, thank you. I had an enjoyable time and hope you all had too.

A Fund Raising Bazaar

Went to a fund raising bazaar recently at St. Louise Church. There arefoods, vegetables, stationaries, crockeries and etc for sale.
The crowd was good. Children were seen enjoying ice sticks and cakes. Look at this overgrown child. We, the adult, were also enjoying the food especially the sambal prawn that come with the nasi lemak. It was really yummy.
St. Louise church is the first church I know way back during my school days and it never change much. The structure and the interior is still the same. Looking at it brings back many many fond memories of the good old school days.

Relationship

Well, the 'before' and 'after' holiday syndrome has finally wear off and now, am back to reality to carry on with life. It is time to make money again and start saving for the next trip. Ya...I will do just that, lols...
***
I read from one of the blogger MUN, about a beautiful relationship that lasted 18 years and it reminded me of my very own relationship that I decided to call it quit recently after about 19 years. Why, you may asked. Many people asked too. Well, it was just too stressful to carry on and I am glad with the decision I finally made and have no regrets over it and I dont feel sorry about it too.
As for the big question mark, no point questioning about 'him' but instead, 'why I did it and is it because I hated him?'. For my case, it wasn't 'hate'. It was just that the relationship was too suffocating and I really needed some breathing space. Of cause calling it quit just because of wanting to breath better is not really a reasonable reason. Sure there are more other reasons to the decision too. Whatever it is, I hope it is for better.
Nothing much changed since the breaking-up. Apart from being able to breath better, I now have more oxygen to keep me healthy and happy, hahaha. At this moment, I am very focus on living healthy. I eat well, sleep well and not forgetting, exercise well too.
Being healthy, happy and stress free is my current goal now. Life is too short and we never know what is in store for us next. So, just stay healthy and be happy.

Angkor-Wat

This is the finale temple for us, the 'Angkor Wat'. There was a beautiful coincident here when we arrived. A rainbow appeared over the sky and the rain stopped just in time for us to have our photo taken with the beautiful reflection of 'Angkor Wat' in the pond. Better still, trying to wrap the rainbow, walking on the rainbow bridge with the rainbow on top of us is really great and the feeling so good just as we finish taking photo a heavy down pour and we actually walking some part of the temple with hat(compliment from the guide) under the rain. I must elaborate here... 'Angkor Wat' is the grandest and most sublime of all the Khymer temples. A city by itself with a total area of 200 hectares. The scale of Angkor Wat enabled the Khmer to give full expression to religious symbolism. There were four big basin to stabilise the structure of the Angkor Wat. All was drained off water due to mosquitoes infestation. Most of the statues of Buddha was vandalised/stolen of heads, hands or legs. Well I must said we were all a little disappointment here because we are not allowed to climb to the highest point of 'Angkor Wat' which was closed for renovation purposes. We did have fun though and enjoyed ourselves so much that even being drenched in rain don't seems like much of a problem.
*****
After Angkor Wat, we went for another session of massage. Self paid. The last itinerary of our day (also our tour) was dinner with Cambodian traditional show. That pretty much wraps up our Siem Reap tour.
*****
This is a portrait of our tour taken with our tour guide and the driver. To spice up our Cambodia trip a little more, the five of us went on a 'TuTu Trishaw' ride to the discos to have some workout done (compensating for the gym session we missed back home).
****
Leaving Siem Reap at 8am the next day and arrived back in Kuala Lumpur safe and sound. Chaires's driver, Aziz, was already waiting for us when we got out of the immigration.

Siem Reap (Day 2) Continued...

As per my last entry, we continued our tour on Day 2 to the next temple, 'Ta-phorm', a monastery. The movie 'Tomb Raider' was shot here.
The complexity of its layout was made worst by its' partly collapsed state......and the trees that intertwined itself amongst the ruins plus a greater mass of thinner & smoother grey roots which grows into various crevices in between the ruins.
This is where Angelina Jolie jumped down in Tomb Raider... and ended up in Dubai, hahaha...
and we'll end up in Anchor Wat in my next entry.
